When you register for Second Life, you specify whether you are a male or female (which is odd for a virtual world, since that shouldn't matter, but I digress). The default female avatar is somewhat voluptuous and wears jeans and a tight longsleeve shirt. The amount of avatar customization in Second Life is remarkable - my favorite attribute is "love handles," for which you can specify "less love" or "more love". I changed the outfit to a simple black skirt, pink top, and boots.
