A few weeks ago I found the Chicagon soccer stadium.
While I was there, they asked if I wanted to join there group, so I did. What the heck, this is ethnographic research at its finest.

A few days later I got an e-mail asking if I wanted to join the Liverpool team. There was no tryout or anything, just a note saying that they have practice at 2:30 SLT(although the date/location was unclear). 2:30pm is in the middle of my real world work day, but this is research after all.

I went to the Chicagon stadium, but noone was there so I IM'd the team captain and he teleported me to the Liverpool stadium.

Captain: Where's your kit?
Me: What's a kit?
Captain: You know, your uniform
(some random bystander): Welcome to British English
Me: Where do I get one?
(captain gives me the shirt, shorts, and socks, and I put it on - see pic below)
Captain: Wait - don't you have a male avatar?
Me: Nope, Why?
(captian gives me a male avatar)
Me: Oh, this is a human-avatar only league?
Captain: Do you have another Furry avatar?
Me: I'm not a furry, I'm a cat !

So not only were they discriminating against cats, but overweight-ers in general!

Then, today the league website announced that "too many negative individuals, the lag, the costs and time challenges meant we had little alternative but to move on." Not sure exactly what happened, but I guess I'll have to find somewhere else to conduct my research :)
